JESUS WAS A CHILD LIKE YOU AND ME
Song Message
Jesus, the Son of God was born to His mother Mary in Bethlehem. His earthly parents, Mary and Joseph raised Jesus and He grew up as a child just as we do. Jesus was without sin, yet He lived as one of us. Living amongst us He experienced life on earth, understood our lives and who we are and also set an example as to how we should live. How amazing it is, that the Son of God came to earth for a wonderful purpose, to give His life for us. Raised from a child to becoming a man, all part of the heavenly Father’s plan because He loved us that much.
Luke 2 v 11 (NIV) Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2 v 40 (ESV) And the child grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.
Luke 2 v 52 (NIV) Jesus matured in wisdom and years and in favour with God and with people.
Lyrics
Verse 1:
Jesus was a child like you and me
He would have played and learned to read
He would have hung out with His friends
Jesus loved His mum and dad
He worked with wood like His carpenter dad did
He spent time with His family
Chorus:
Jesus was a child like me
Yet He was pure in heart
Though He was without sin
Jesus lived as one of us
Verse 2:
Jesus would have laughed
And He would have cried
He was very spiritual inside
He was a very wise little boy
Jesus asked questions so
He understood
He learned all that He possibly could
In the temple He listened to the teachers there
Chorus:
Jesus was a child like me
Yet He was pure in heart
Though He was without sin
Jesus lived as one of us
Verse 3:
Jesus loved and Jesus cared
He was a willing friend to all He met
He knew how much His heavenly Father cared
Jesus was a child and then a man
It was all part of the Father’s plan
He knew and understood the life we have
Chorus:
Jesus was a child like me
Yet He was pure in heart
Though He was without sin
Jesus lived as one of us
