Christmas is the time when we do all sorts of fun things, spend time with family and friends, give gifts to each other and sing carols etc. It’s easy to get carried away in all this and not stop to remember what it truly is all about. Why are we having parties? Why are we celebrating? The significance of this is huge! This is the time we celebrate God sending his only son to be born into the world with his purpose to save us. An amazing gift of love from God as his son was to come and die and then rise again for us, an incredible sacrifice. So, at Christmas, there is only one purpose to all our festivities, we celebrate Jesus!

Isaiah 9 vs 6 (ESV) For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince of Peace.

Matthew 1 vs 21 (NIV) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Matthew 2 vs 9-10(ESV) After listening to the King, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
